We use water every day, and yet often take safe water for granted. It requires a dedicated staff, complex treatment plant, and a lengthy distribution system to bring safe water to every home and business in Johnson Creek. You may be surprised to learn the Johnson Creek Water Utility does not receive tax dollars and must operate entirely on revenues from the sale of water and sewer services.
At less than a penny per gallon, municipal water remains a huge bargain. But it also takes ongoing planning and investment to manage and replace aging infrastructure before it causes a failure as well as set priorities to proactively plan for the future. Investment in public water is an investment into the community for our residents and continued economic development.
