The Johnson Creek Fire Department is excited to announce an immediate opening for the position of
Paramedic/Firefighter. This will be a Full-Time position for a duration of up to 6-months. The Johnson Creek Fire Department provides fire and EMS services for the Village of Johnson Creek and the Townships of Aztalan, Farmington, Watertown and Milford. We are an ever-growing agency with many opportunities to grow in the fire service.

Responsibilities include responding to calls for service, fire suppression activities, rescue, and property preservation; provides pre-hospital EMS care to patients; preforms with limited supervision through Fire Department Standard Operating Guidelines and established protocols and directives; maintains a state of readiness of facilities and equipment by scheduled inspections, cleaning, testing, and maintenance; promotes health and safety of the department and community through education; performs related work as required, including administrative and operational tasks to meet department goals/mission.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; possess a valid WI driver’s license; be insurable to operate Fire Department vehicles and equipment; ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions; ability to maintain a favorable working relationship with co-workers, Fire Department officials, the officials of other jurisdictions, the community, and the public. Applicants will be required to submit to a medical/physical examination consistent with the requirements of the position, which will include a drug screening. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of working with combination 911 Fire/EMS department; have excellent interpersonal communication skills; along with an ability to be a great team member.
Required qualifications at time of appointment include: State of WI Certified Firefighter I. State of WI Licensed Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic.
Desired qualifications: Driver/Operator Certification, Wisconsin Fire Inspector certification, Wisconsin Firefighter 2 certification, Wisconsin Fire Officer certification(s)
Salary:
This position is compensated at a rate of $64,542 annually and will include benefits Limited Term Employees are entitled to.
